Ramblings?

It goes without saying...
But I'll say it:

There are many things you need
things you want
things you can't have.

I'm not talking about iPhones and minis and Macbooks.
I'm talking about peace, serenity, stability, love, understanding...

Sure. Someday you are destined to achieve these "gifts"
but many a time you will realize... that today is not that day.

Today is not the day you fall in love;
Today is not the day you find success;
Today is not the day you are fulfilled.

Maybe tomorrow?

...

There once a boy named Johnny
who really wanted a pony.
He found a pony perfect for him.
Her name was Bonnie.

There once was a pony named Bonnie
who had to act a phony.
A boy loved her; she didn't love back.
She seriously could win a Tony.

Everything seemed just fine.
The boy sighed, "the pony is mine".
Yet, the charade was ending, though the pony tried.
Try and try and try--she's lying.

Although his heart was good,
and she seemed just right.
Her heart was for someone else.
For try and try as he might,
For her her heart, he couldn't even fight.
And try and try as she might,
She knew he was her type.

The Spirit of the Revolution

I sit here.
Feeling the air on my face.
Through my hair. Pushing me back.

It tells me of the stories of old.
Of the Nicaraguans who once lived.
De las cosas que pasaron.

And I understood.
My life.
To revere what is natural.
To revere what is good.

The spirit of La Revolución.
De la gente.

I feel it.

A Commentary on Your Problems

That which is here is never nearly enough;
That which is there is always beyond the cuff;
Wanting and having is just merely about stuff;
Simply being alive--you must think that's tough.

That Time

Remember that time? With the place.
You know... where everywhere was a disaster.
Where the drinks were too sour
and the places were too swank.

Remember that time? With the lady.
You know... the crazy one driving the cab.
Our own personal radio disk jockey,
traveling this way and that way.

Remember that time? With the fight.
You know... the drunkards looking to throw down.
Nobody messes with one of us;
we've got each others' backs.

Remember that time?
You know... when it didn't matter what we did or where.
But what mattered was who were were with
and the memories that were made.

That's what I remember.
